We have all been isolating inside our homes because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Since social distancing and taking other protective measures are a few ways to beat the virus, we have all been following the guidelines. Amid this, a lot of people have come up with various strategies to help people cope with the uncertainty during this time. Recently, we came across a post by an Instagram page called Shaktipeeth digital, and according to it, the organisation is offering an online Coronavirus Relief Puja for people who are worried about their well-being during this time. They claim that the online puja will evoke Maa Durga's protection. Yes, you read that right.

Their post says, "Durga Saptashati Path is a powerful puja of Maa Durga that will help overcome trying times by giving you strength and relief. By evoking her blessings, Maa will protect her devotees from this pandemic. Let's all pray to Maa Durga for health, wealth, and victory over negative influences (sic)."

According to the website, arranging a puja will cost approximately Rs 2,100 plus an extra 18 per cent GST.

As for the benefits, the website claims that a person will get protection from Covid-19 pandemic, economic stability, good health and long life for the entire family and protection from evil, removal of obstacles, and recovery if someone has developed coronavirus related ailments.

In June, a sweet shop had also gone viral for coming up with a Sandesh that could help people fight the novel coronavirus. The Sandesh is made with herbs like tulsi, Haldi (turmeric), chhoti ilaichi (cardamom), joshti modhu (liquorice), jayfal (nutmeg), ginger and more.
