Nitish Kumar and JP Nadda held a meeting in Patna on Saturday to discuss the Bihar assembly election.

Amid the growing rift between NDA allies Chirag Pawan-led LJP and Nitish Kumar-led JDU, BJP chief JP Nadda on Saturday said the upcoming Bihar assembly election will be fought under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.

JP Nadda, who is visiting Bihar ahead of the elections, met Nitish Kumar on Saturday to discuss the seat-sharing arrangement between the NDA partners and also the bitter tussle between Nitish Kumar and Chirag Paswan.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Sushil Modi on Saturday said the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide and the controversy surrounding it is not an issue for the Bihar elections.

Addressing a public event on Saturday, BJP leader JP Nadda emphasised on Nitish Kumar being the leader of Bihar NDA even as Chirag Paswan has raised several objections to this.

There any issues related to development which will be prominent in the upcoming Bihar elections. The development that should have happened has not happened people from my state go out in search of jobs & education that is something which I as a Bihari don't like.

At the same time, Chirag Paswan said, “I hope JP Nadda will meet us very soon. I have been in touch with JP Nadda and Amit Shah. JDU is a bigger party so it is okay if JP Nadda meets them first.”

Speaking on the Nitish Kumar government, Chirag Paswan said, “There are issues in Bihar which need to be looked at. There any issues related to development which will be prominent in the upcoming Bihar elections. The development that should have happened has not happened and people from my state go out in search of jobs and education that is something which I as a Bihari don't like.”

Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party has taken a strident stand against the JDU and threatened to put up candidates against its nominees during the elections. The LJP has, however, refrained from targeting the BJP.

Amid the growing rift with JDU ahead of the Bihar assembly polls, LJP patron Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday said he will stand firmly with whatever decision his son and LJP chief Chirag Paswan takes on the party's ties.
