The Mumbai Police on Friday arrested six people, including a shakha pramukh and one member of Shiv Sena, accused of an attack on a former Navy officer in Kondivali East.

Shiv Sena's shakha pramukh Kamlesh Kadam and another party worker Sanjay Manjre are among the six arrested. According to the FIR filed by the retired naval officer, he was attacked by Shiv Sena workers earlier in the day for sharing a cartoon that mocked Maharashtra Chief Minister and Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.

The FIR was filed at the Samta Nagar police station. At the time, Additional Commissioner North Region Dilip Sawant had assured that the action will be taken against those responsible for the attack.

Within a few hours, the Samta Nagar police arrested Kamlesh Kadam, a local shakha pramukh of Shiv Sena, and Sena worker Sanjay Manjre, who is suspected to have participated in the attack.

BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar has shared a video on social media that shows six men barging inside a residential property. They drag Madan Sharma out by the collar and can be seen slapping him in the face multiple times.
