Andhra Pradesh police will be launching an 'AP Police Seva' mobile application which will help in ensuring the safety of your home when you are on a holiday. The mobile application will be launched by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on September 17.

A citizen, using the 'AP Police Seva' mobile application, can put in a request asking the police department to monitor his/her house while the family is elsewhere. Coming to how the police will monitor your house, there are a couple of ways.

This is how the app works:

In urban areas, CCTVs and motion sensors will be installed free of cost at the residence of the citizen filing the request.

Any person entering the house without prior intimation will automatically trigger an alarm, thereby alerting not only the local police but also the owner of the house via an SMS.

In rural and remote parts of the state, the house of the person filing the request will be included in the 'beat' of the constable on duty who will not only be responsible for keeping a close eye on the house every single day but will also be clicking a picture of the house daily, without fail. The same picture will then be sent to the owner in order to provide the maximum amount of assurance.

Citizens can avail 85 more such innovative services through this mobile application including services such as background check of a probable employee or a probable tenant, filing a complaint, checking your challan status to paying it.

Also, keeping women's safety on priority, the 'AP Police Seva' mobile application can provide GPS location and also inform if a location is safe.

To do the same, the police department has geo-tagged all the scenes of crime in its database. This unique feature is aimed to alert women.

Apart from this, the application is also programmed to alert individuals whenever they are approaching black spots/accident-prone areas without even having to open the app while travelling, using the location of the user.
